<p>Hitesh K. Malde of Vasai/Santacruz, Mumbai, India, passed away on February 13th, 2010, in India at the age of 52. He was brother of Meena C. Shah of Springfield NJ.

<p>Our deepest condolences to the family of Late. Smt. Narmdaben Dhanji Maru who passed away on February 16, 2010 at Mulund, India.  She was 66 years old and suffering from pancreatic cancer.</p>

<p>She was the sister of Veni Sumaria, Chandu Shah, Ratan Maru, Kamla Gudka and Late Shri Somchand Shah of Boston, Massachusetts; Premchand Shah of Los Angeles, California;  and Nathalal Shah, Jethiben Harniya, Rupaben Gudhka and Champa Shah residing in India.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our deepest condolences to the families of Mahen Chandaria, of Toronto-Canada, who peacefully passed away in the early hours of Friday, September 11th, 2009, at his home at the age of 59. Beloved husband of Geeta, and dearly loved father of Sagar, Sarit and Savan, Mahen was born in Nairobi, Kenya, on August 21st, 1950.</p>
<p><span id="more-1466"></span></p>
<p>He arrived in Canada in the spring of 1984 and joined his family in successfully building their businesses. Mahen always showed tremendous perseverance and fortitude, particularly in the last ten years, in spite of serious health issues. He was known as “a man with a golden heart”. Always a giver and rarely a taker, he was sought by many for his ability to inspire and motivate.</p>
<p>He was the cherished son of Velji Dharamshi and Paniben Chandaria, and brother of Ashok, Navin, Kapoor, Kumud and Dhiren. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and family and friends from around the world. He was a proud son-in-law to Liladhar Khimji Jesang Shah &amp; Lalitaben Liladhar Shah of Nairobi , Kenya. He was a proud banevi to Meena David Youngblood (Houston, Texas), Mala (Dallas, Texas), and Smita Dipak Shah (Chicago, Illinois).</p>
<p>The funeral ceremony took place from 2:30 to 4pm on Tuesday, September 15th, at Elgin Mills Funeral Home, 1591 Elgin Mills Rd. East, Richmond Hill, Ontario, and was followed by a reception.</p>
<p>Shanti Puja was held at 10:30am on Saturday, September 19th, at the Sanatan Mandir Cultural Centre, at 9333 Woodbine Ave., Markham, Ontario, followed by a lunch.</p>
<p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada (<a href="http://www.kidney.ca/" target="_blank">www.kidney.ca</a>).</p>

<p>Our heartiest condolences to the families of Motiben Narshi Samat Shah-Dodhia of Changa, who passed away in London, UK, on August 25, 2009. She was 83 years old. She enjoyed her life for 60 years in Kisumu, Kenya, spending time with her children and grandchildren.</p>

<p>She was a mother to Chandrakantbhai (Nairobi, Kenya), Late Rameshbhai (Nairobi, Kenya,) Ashwinbhai (London, UK), Vasantiben Vasant Shah ( Woodridge, Illinois, USA), Sarojben Arun Shah (Nakuru, Kenya). She has 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>Last year she visited Chicago, USA, to spend time with her daughter, Vasantiben Vasant Shah and family for 2 months. We all had an honor to meet and spend some time with her.<br />
She recently suffered pancreatic cancer, and her family would like to protect our elders from this deadly disease, by encouraging early check-ups. The symtoms are stomach/abdominal pains, vomiting, and diarrhea.</p>
<p>May God grant her eternal peace, she will be missed by all her family and fellow Oshwals. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.

<p>He was father of Niru Mansukh Gosar Shah of Hanover, Maryland; grandfather (Nana) of Raju Mansukh Shah of Silver Spring, Maryland; and Meena Mansukh Shah of Oakland, California.  He is survived by his wife, Gunvantiben, son and daughter-in-law: Shailesh and Alpa; daughters and son-in-laws: Niru and Mansukh (Manu), Manjula and Mahesh, Prafula (Bena) and Vipul, Hasmita (Hasu) and Hitesh; several grandchildren and great grandchild.</p>

<p> Mr. Chhaganlal Meghji Virji Chheda passed away in Nairobi, Kenya, on May 14th, 2009. He was 93 years old. He had very peaceful life in Kenya for over 75 years. He was my wife, Smita&#8217;s, motabapa, and with whom she shared wonderful memories, when she went to Kenya to celebrate his 90th birthday in 2007.<span id="more-1313"></span></p>
<p>He was husband to Late Jiviben Chhanganlal; father to Vanitaben Mohanlal Vradman (Leicester, UK), and Nalinbhai Chhanganlal (Nairobi, Kenya); son of Puriben Meghji Virji Chheda of Changa, India, currently residing in Nairobi, Kenya; son-in-law to Late Ratnaben &amp; Late Murag Rajpal Sumaria (Changa, India).</p>
<p>He was father -in-law to Mohanlal Vardhamn (of Leicester ,UK) and Chandaben Nalin (of Nairobi, Kenya).  He was brother to Amratben Kachra Tejpar (of Swan Industries, Kisumu, Kenya), Chandulal Meghji (of UK), Late Devchand Meghji (of Haku Crafts, Nairobi, Kenya), Late Jayaben Velji (of Jamnagar, India), Premchand Meghji of (Cute Kitchen-Nairobi, Kenya), Gulabchand Meghji (of Kenplast, Nairobi, Kenya), and Lataben Bhimji (Bidco Industries of Nairobi/Thika, Kenya).</p>
<p>He was Grandfather of Mayuri and Jinit (of Leicester, UK), Sandip and Saroj (of Sanma Boutique, Nairobi, Kenya), Binisha and Kamlesh Kotedia (of Dubai), Bhavni and Vikesh of Nairobi, Kenya.</p>
<p>He was a Great Grandfather to Vishal, Vikesh, Akshay and Deven</p>
<p>His funeral is on Saturday, May 16th at 3.00pm at the Hindu Crematorium, Kariokor, Nairobi, Kenya.</p>
<p>Prayers will be held at the Oshwal Center, Nairobi, Kenya. May God grant him eternal peace, OM SHANTI, SHANTI, SHANTI.

<p>He married Kanchanben (daughter of Ramji Narshi Shah) and he has 3 children (Bhavesh, Prashant and Kashmira).</p>
<p>Maganbhai passed away on February 23, 2009 after a fruitful journey of 72 years.  Halari Visa Oshwal Community feels a tremendous lose on passing away of a dedicated leader.  His name is hardly unknown amongst the Oshwal community throughout our settlements in India, East Africa, UK, America and everywhere.</p>
<p>By profession, Maganbhai was a successful engineer, industrialist and businessman. But apart from that he was a dedicated and hard working community leader and a humble servant in many religious and progressive institutions. He was actively involved in Oshwal Sikshan and Rahat  Sangh , Mumbai Oshwal Samaj, Bhiwandi Oshwal Samaj, Thana Oshwal Jain Sangh and many more.  He held several prominent and demanding positions such as President, Secretary, Trustee, etc.</p>
<p>Maganbhai also was a very religious and philanthropic person and he dedicated his entire life towards the betterment of the Oshwal community.  He emphasized on Education in general and he arranged several fund raisers for community institutions.  He was also deeply involved in religious activities surrounding Maharaj Sahebs and derasars.</p>
<p>Maganbhai was an inspiration to many and an example of a life worth living.  May his soul rest in peace!</p>

<p>She was born on January 4th, 1921 in Mungni, India. After Marriage to Mr. Raishi Mepa, she moved to Kenya in 1936, and then she moved to England in 1974.</p>
<p>Makaben Shah raised twelve children, but is survived by ten children, nineteen grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>She was mother of Suresh Raishi Shah of Nashua, NH, and grandmother of Sneha, Aarti and Puja Shah of Nashua, NH. She was Masi to Shantilal Shah of Hackettstown, NJ, and Hasmukh, Dinesh, and Kiren Shah of St. Louis, MO.</p>

<p>Mr. Narshi Punja Shah was born in a village called Kajuda near Jamnagar, Gujarat on Diwali November 8, 1928.  He was the youngest of 8 children.  He moved to Kenya in 1939 at age 11 and did his primary and secondary education in Kisumu.  In 1945, he joined the family’s textile business.  The business expanded to include sugarcane, wheat, maize, sisal, and dairy farming.  He also mined copper in South Nyanza and ventured into automobiles and real estate business.<span id="more-423"></span></p>
<p>Narshibhai married Kanchanben May 16, 1948.  His family includes his eldest son Sunil, wife Shakuntala, their 2 children Sajni and Savan; his second son Kamal and son Punit, and his daughter Nutan, her husband Arvind, their son Rohin, daughter Devina and her husband Sunny.</p>
<p>Narshibhai played a very active role in many organizations such as Visa Oshwal Vanik Community (V.O.V.C.) of Kisumu and Nairobi; and the Oshwal Education Board.  He was a founder member of the Lions Club of Kisumu.</p>
<p>In 1968 Narshibhai moved to Nairobi where he expanded his automobile business.  With the help of Sunil and Kamal, United Millers was born in 1977, and has become a household name, providing thousands of jobs and incomes directly and indirectly.</p>
<p>Narshibhai was a very religious and philanthropic person, well spoken, and a world traveler.  He is today the highest donor to the Oshwal Education Fund.  Among others, he completely renovated the Cutchi Gujarat Shiv Mandir on Race Course Road Nairobi.</p>
<p>Narshibhai was able to accomplish many dreams and goals in his life. In April 1998, he organized an Eye Camp in Kisumu that benefited the lives of over 14,000 Kenyans.  In December 2003, he built and provided for the Kisumu Visa Oshwal Community a Jain Deraser.  And finally in September 2005, he traveled to Mansarover to give his last respects.  He was an inspiration to many and an example of a life worth living.  On June 21, 2008, he took his last breath at 8.20pm.</p>

He was born in Nairobi on 1st July 1945 where his parents (late) Virchand Raichand Ranmal Shah of Dabsang and Amritben (Arablus) ran a corner shop. Devendra did his pre-university education in Kenya and he also became a Queen Scout and received the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award for his outdoor activities on Kenya&#8217;s Independence day. He studied for an Hons Degree in Electrical Engineering from 1965 to 1969 at Edinburgh University, Scotland.</p>

<p>From about 1988 until his death Devendra worked tirelessly as a Committee member for the Oshwal Association UK, NW London Area in various capacities. His aim was to promote the Jain faith among the young and old within the Oshwal Community which he did with vigor. As he became spiritually aware, he did many Athais and Ambels and visited many places of Jain Worship in India, particularly Palitana and Rajasthan.</p>
<p>He leaves behind wife Pravina and two children Drijen and Anouksha both University graduates.</p>

He was husband of Shantaben, father of Jayendra and Varsha Haresh Shah, grandfather of Binay and Bansi Jayendra Shah, father-in-law of Haresh Nyalchand Shah, nana of Pratik and Mira H. Shah.  He was cousin-brother of N.K.Haria (known as Hari) of Lalit Industries of Bombay and Kandlahe, and was uncle of Madhu Manek Dodhia of New York.  He was a very close friend of Chandulal Popatlal Shah of Irving, Texas.  <span id="more-264"></span>He has served as a General Secretary of the Visha Oshwal community of Bombay.  He will be remembered as far as Aradhanadham, as he played very big roll to make Aradhanadham as tourist attraction.  May god rest his soul in eternal peace.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our deepest condolences to the family of Sarlaben Chandrakant Chandaria of Southgate UK, who passed away due to the deadly disease of pancreatic Cancer on July 24th 2007.  She was 53 years old.<span id="more-188"></span></p>
<p>Sarlaben was a daughter of (Late) Meghji Kumbha and Amratben Meghji Shah of Texas, sister to Chandrakant and Niru Shah of Chicago, Jayanti and Nayana Shah of Sherman Texas, Pravinaben and Pravinbhai Shah of Austin Texas. Sarlaben was a wonderful mother to son Neal and daughter Neha. Our deepest condolences to Chandrakantbhai (Dinesh) Raishi Chandaria of Southgate, UK, on sudden loss of his wife Sarlaben and his mother Hiruben Raishi Chandaria on June 24th 2007, a month prior. Sarlaben had just been diagnosed with cancer within one month. Sarlaben&#8217;s was a very active person, who exercised regularly, took a very positive approach to life, she will be missed dearly, by all her family and friends.</p>
<p>Her family would like to encourage all of us to take cancer as a serious disease , please get your medical check-ups regularly, as a precaution for early detection. May God grant their souls eternal peace. OM SHANTI, SHANTI, SHANTI.</p>

<blockquote><p>Somchand H. Shah, age 63, a resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Ansuriya (Dodhia) Shah of Lowell.  <span id="more-77"></span>  He was born in Goinj, India, April 22, 1944, the son of the late Hansraj and the late Kankuben Shah. He received his bachelor&#8217;s degree in business administration in Bombay, India. Before retiring, Mr. Shah was a salesman at Jaihind Trading Co., in Bangalore, India. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Bindi and Joseph Carpenter of Amesbury; a son, Rakesh Shah of Lowell; six sisters, Jayaben Shah, Rupaben Shah and Narmadaben Shah, all of Bombay India, and Champaben Shah of Bangalore, India, Ratanben Maru of Danvers, and Kamalaben Gudka of Boxford; four brothers, Nathalal Shah of Palm Springs, Calif., Venilal Sumaria of Boxford, Premchand Shah of Palm Springs, Calif., and Chandu Shah of Reading; as well as many nieces and nephews. </p>
