Congratulations to Vijya Galaiya

Once again Vijya Galaiya (Long Valley, NJ)completed her aththai with excellent sata during the paryushana to add to her many previous taps. Last year Vijya did 16 Upvas during the paryushana and she regularly does both the ayanbil holis in Chaitra and Aaso month for past few years.

Udayan Ramji Bid

Our heartfelt condolences to Dhruvi Shah (Bid) of Springfield, NJ. Dhruvi’s father Udayan Ramji Bid passed away in Haidrabad at young age of 50 on August 15th. He was husband of Minaxiben and father of Keyur of Haidrabad, and Brother in law (Banevi) of Rajani Dedhia of Islin, NJ.

Chimanlal Ramji Raishi Shah, Seattle, Washington

Our heartfelt condolences to the family of Chimanlal Ramji Raishi Shah of Mombasa/London/Seattle, Washington (Jhakharia of Khara Beraja) who passed away on August 14, 2006 in Seattle after a long illness. He was born in Mombasa in 1943. The cremation ceremony will be held on August 17. He is survived by his wife, Snehlata, two sons -Jagrut and Jitesh, and four grand daughters. May God rest his soul in eternal peace.

Boston Regional Picnic 2006

We held our Regional picnic on June 18, 2006, at Leominster, MA. Madhuben and Hemendrabhai were the host for the day. There was all together 28 Oshwals who enjoyed to create your own pizza, mogo and corn on the cob. We all had a great time at the picnic, and the weather did favor us. It was beautiful day.

Fathers Day Picnic in New Jersey, June 18, 2006

The rain stayed away for our recent Father’s Day picnic, on June 18, 2006. This event has become an annual tradition for the Oshwal community in the Northeast. This year, it was held at Merrill County Park in New Jersey. About 60 of us, young and old, enjoyed the company of family and friends.

Jiviben Rajpal Punja Shah (Haria)

She enjoyed good health and long life per her family. I Have a Dream - by Rahul Haria

I want to live life to the full, enjoy myself, be successful, set personal challenges, …… I am an ambitious person with lots of dreams, spoken silently but also with acknowledgment that I may not succeed every time.

I was talking to couple of my friends, Piyush Gudka and Kaushik Shah during our Coast-to-Coast Cycling and the Three Peaks challenge in August 2005. One evening, in a youth hostel, Piyush and Kaushik, who had just completed the London Marathon in April 2005, were comparing their run with the combined C2C and the 3 Peaks challenge. As they talked I raised the inevitable question if I was capable of doing the London Marathon next year.
