Chiraag Galaiya (15) (Long Valley, NJ)completed his first aththai this past paryushana with excellent sata. Our heart felt congratulations to Chiraag.

Once again Vijya Galaiya (Long Valley, NJ)completed her aththai with excellent sata during the paryushana to add to her many previous taps. Last year Vijya did 16 Upvas during the paryushana and she regularly does both the ayanbil holis in Chaitra and Aaso month for past few years.

Congratulations to Nilam Shah of Edison, NJ for completing the aththai. Also Mansukh and Nilam Shah had a pratishtha of their ghar dehrasar this past Saturday. Congratulations to the entire Shah family. Nilam had godd sata for her tapascharya.

Congratulations to Monica Shah (Hanover, MD) for completing her aththai this past paryushana. Monica had good sta though out the paryushana. Monica is wife of Raju Mansukhlal Shah and Daugher in law of Manu and Niru Shah.

Our heartfelt condolences to Dhruvi Shah (Bid) of Springfield, NJ. Dhruvi’s father Udayan Ramji Bid passed away in Haidrabad at young age of 50 on August 15th. He was husband of Minaxiben and father of Keyur of Haidrabad, and Brother in law (Banevi) of Rajani Dedhia of Islin, NJ.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family of Chimanlal Ramji Raishi Shah of Mombasa/London/Seattle, Washington (Jhakharia of Khara Beraja) who passed away on August 14, 2006 in Seattle after a long illness. He was born in Mombasa in 1943. The cremation ceremony will be held on August 17. He is survived by his wife, Snehlata, two sons -Jagrut and Jitesh, and four grand daughters. May God rest his soul in eternal peace.

Our heartiest congratulations to Sanjay (Son of Mrs. Indira and Dr. Ratilal Lalji Dodhia of Lincoln, RI) and Ratna (Daughter of Mrs. Sarojben and Mr. Navinbhai Bhojani of Waltham, MA) on their wedding, which took place on April 15, 2006, in Burlington, MA. We wish them good luck for their new life together.

Our heartiest congratulations to Mayur (Son of Ms. Kamala Mansukhlal Gudka and Nephew of Debbie and Veni Sumaria of Boxford, MA) and Jigna (Daughter of Mrs. Gitaben and Mr. Ashokbhai Shah of Wembley, UK) on their wedding, which took place on December 4, 2005, in Junagadh, Gujarat, India. We wish them good luck for their new life together.

We held our Regional picnic on June 18, 2006, at Leominster, MA. Madhuben and Hemendrabhai were the host for the day. There was all together 28 Oshwals who enjoyed to create your own pizza, mogo and corn on the cob. We all had a great time at the picnic, and the weather did favor us. It was beautiful day.

Our heartiest congratulations to Amit (Son of Manisha and Kanti Shah of Poughkeepsie, NY.) and Ruhi (Daughter of Kalpanaben and Saradbhai Gandhi) of Cerritos, California, on their wedding, which took place on May 20, 2006, in Cerritos, California.

The rain stayed away for our recent Father’s Day picnic, on June 18, 2006. This event has become an annual tradition for the Oshwal community in the Northeast. This year, it was held at Merrill County Park in New Jersey. About 60 of us, young and old, enjoyed the company of family and friends.

Our deepest condolences to the families of Jiviben Rajpal Punja Shah (Haria), who passed away in Nairobi, Kenya, on Tuesday, May 16th, 2006. She was 93 years old. She enjoyed good health and long life per her family. She was a mother to Pravinbhai of Austin, Texas; Ashokbhai of London, UK; Lalitaben, Savitaben, and Shantaben of Nairobi, Kenya; Kantaben (Shiluben) of Australia; Nimuben and Sushilaben of London, UK; Champaben of Nairobi, Kenya.

I want to live life to the full, enjoy myself, be successful, set personal challenges, …… I am an ambitious person with lots of dreams, spoken silently but also with acknowledgment that I may not succeed every time.

I was talking to couple of my friends, Piyush Gudka and Kaushik Shah during our Coast-to-Coast Cycling and the Three Peaks challenge in August 2005. One evening, in a youth hostel, Piyush and Kaushik, who had just completed the London Marathon in April 2005, were comparing their run with the combined C2C and the 3 Peaks challenge. As they talked I raised the inevitable question if I was capable of doing the London Marathon next year. Mr. Zaverchand Shamji Dodhia of Navagam, of Chetan Pharmacy, Bombay, India, passed away peacefully, on 15th March 2006 at 1.45.pm. Bombay time. He was Mama of Chandulal Popatlal Shah of Irving, Texas. May God rest his soul in eternal peace.
