It is with deepest sadness that we announce the death of Mrs Shantaben Chunilal Gosrani on 16 July 2020 in London, at the age of 85 years
She was the wife of Late Chunilal Shamji Lakhdhir Gosrani (formerly of Nairobi)
She was the daughter of Late Karamshi Panachand (Nairobi) and Late Puriben Karamshi
She was the daughter-in-law of Late Shamji Lakhdhir (Lakabawal, India) and Ratanben Shamji
She was the mother and mother-in-law of Raj & Meena, Piyush & Lina (North Carolina) and Jay & Rita
She was the grandmother of Yasha & David, Shion & Henry, Chiraayu (New York),
Saahj (North Carolina), Aushan and Siena
She was great grandmother to Edgar
She was the sister and sister-in-law of Late Motiben & Late Hansrajbhai (Indore),
Late Nemchandbhai & Late Ranjanben (Nairobi), Sushilaben & Veljibhai,
Hansaben & Late Manshuklal (Nairobi) and Jineshbhai & Shashiben (Nairobi)
She was the sister-in-law of Chandulalbhai & Manjulaben, Late Bhupenbhai & Ilaben (Mumbai), Zaverben & Late Bhagwanjibhai (Ruiru), Dinuben and Shantilalbhai (Eldoret) and Kusumben and Satishbhai (Nairobi)
She was Kaki to Nimish & Shilpa (North Carolina), Manish, Shehul & Sneha (Mumbai)
She was Mami to Bhavesh, Pulin & Karishma (Ruiru), Hilesh & Mira (Eldoret), Sapna & Rupesh, Deep, Parita & Shail (Nairobi) and Vishal & Kavita (Nairobi)
She was Faiba to Hiteshi & Rajesh (Nairobi), Hiten & Kiki (Perth), Dipam (Nairobi), Khilna, Ashish (Nairobi) and Nina & Rakesh
She was Masi to Himesh & Shobhna (Indore), Nilesh & Hina, Late Snehal & Vimal (Mombasa), Shriya, Sanjay & Tina, Binita, Nikunj & Shejal (Nairobi), Kamal & Sahar and Parag & Sejal (Nairobi)
Shantaben was a loving and kind soul, liked by all who met her. She touched many lives by her generous spirit, sense of fun and exuberance and, no doubt, her cooking. She was famous for her gajjar no halvo and a keen card player. She was a joyous and social person with many friends and a member of 30-woman strong coffee club. She was involved in Dada Bhagwan and together with her late husband had enrolled many devotees.
Shantaben had an enormous personality and with her commitment and dedication was a great example to, not only her family, but also her community and friends and she will be missed by many people. She always wanted to please everyone she came in contact with.
