Survey 2020/2021 – Halari Visa Oshwals of North America

Dear Friends & Community,

After a long year I’m sure we’ve all had some time for self-reflection.  I’m hoping this survey finds you in good health, and that you can help us determine what the next phase for our organization.

Our community is about 400 families in the US and another 150 in Canada, for about 1500 total people in North America.  Our community today looking different now, than it did when our community began to emigrate here in the 60’s and 70’s.  It’s 50 years later, and while our community has grown in number, the large emigration from UK/Kenya/India has slowed down.

The US is very different now than it was 50 years ago.  Our local communities are more diverse, there are local Jain Societies and Gujarati Samajs all over the US.

As our community has grown, its been by expanding our families, often with those not of the Oshwal background.  With that growth, and just a busier life, there are many more organizations and places where we spend our time and energy, allowing for less focus on this particular aspect of our shared background.

This survey is to poll the community and see how best to serve our changing community.  All the questions are optional – but the more questions you can answer, the better we can use that info.
