A picnic was held on Father’s Day, June 15, 2003, in Suffern, New York at the Clark Recreation Center. About 40 Oshwals attended from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, for a beautiful afternoon of food, games, relaxation, and conversation. On the menu this year was jellabi-gathia and chai for breakfast, bhel and roasted corn for lunch, along with watermelon and other snacks. Almost everyone played some ‘Ubhi-Kho’ and dodge ball.

About 35 Oshwals from New England attended the picnic arranged by Madhu and Hemendra Shah in their back yard on Saturday, May 17 2003. We had delicious sagdina pizza (barbecue pizza), vada, roasted mogo (Yucca), corn, salad etc., prepared by various members of our community. Every body had a wonderful time.

The semi-annual picnic of Texas Oshwals we held on May 4 at a park in north Plano/Dallas. About 50 adults and children attended the picnic. The attendance was a little less than past years because of the uncertain weather conditions. The forecast was for thunderstorms but luckily the weather remained fine. Thanks to Naina and Jyantilal Meghji of Sherman, TX. who sponsored food which consisted of Bhel, Pani Puri and dessert. There were pizzas for kids. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.
