NY metro area picnic will be on Father’s Day, June 16th, at Merrill Park in Iselin (near Edison), NJ.

This location was hit couple years back as it is close to Indian shopping area of Edison and is centrally located to our community. We will have fun filled day with everyone’s participation. We will try to have activities for everyone to participate and enjoy. Also make suggestions if you have any ideas. We need volunteers to organize games.

Bangalore Samaj has sent an open invitation for the grand opening of the wadi on May 3rd to 5th, 2013.

Bangalore Samaj has built a fabulous five story wadi near Vimalnath Halari Jain Deharasar in Baseswara nagar (90% of Halaris in Bangalore live within three miles). It has provision for the hostel on the top floor with separate kitchen. Parking is in the basement. Dining hall with kitchen is on the lower floor. Next floor has a main hall with a capacity of over 1000 people and it opens to two floor for excellent view of the event. The two top floors has 20 plus rooms. On Nov 3rd, 2012, over 65 Oshwals and friends gathered at a local Banquet Hall in Plano, TX to celebrate Diwali. We started the evening with Aarti and Mangal Divo, followed by a cultural program presented by kids and adults. A traditional Diwali dinner and mithai was enjoyed by all.

The Pilgrimage Committee of JAINA is pleased to announce 2013 JAINA Yatra to Shri Shikharji and nearby Teerths.

The Yatra will start from New Delhi on January 18, 2013 and will end in Kolkata on February 3. Yatra will begin with visit to Dadawadi in New Delhi and plan to visit Hastinapur, Agra, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Champapuri, Rajgir, Veerayatan, Pawapuri, Guniyaji, Bodhi Gaya, Lachhwad, Samet Shikhar, Rujuvalika and Calcutta. We will be visiting more than 80 Kalyanak Bhomis of our Teerthankars during our Yatra.

The Oshwal group of TX/OK met on May 20 at Rossell Creek Park in Plano, Tx for a wonderful picnic. It was perfect weather. There were about 50 to 55 people. We had variety of food. Kids enjoyed outdoor games. Parents and grandparents were happy to meet all members. Mrs Neeru and Manu Shah from Maryland also attended our picnic. Such picnics are special events to bring the community together.

After a relatively warm winter and a warm start to spring…we all need to refreshing change, isn’t it? It gives us  immense pleasure in announcing this year’s HVO’s Northeast Spring Picnic to the Bushkill Falls, Pennsylvania on the 10^th of June 2012, from 10-4p.m.

Known as the ‘Niagara of Pennsylvania’ Bushkill Falls is a series of eight waterfalls that cascade gracefully deep in the wooded splendor of the Pocono Mountains. This is one of Pennsylvania’s most famous scenic attractions and a favorite destination for hiking, fishing, and family fun.
